Into Moto, Finally

Hello folks, It has been a really long time since I posted. And I have some lame excuses for the long absence. Finally, I have joined job and till the end of last week I was held up with the joining formalities. Yeah, finally, on July 30th, 2008, I joined Motorola, the US telecom major.

First, about the long wait.. From the day college got over until somewhere in the beginning of July, I was really at my wit’s end on how to kill time. All day I would wait sitting staring at my PC for any mail from moto on the joining date. Ravi’s sister’s marriage and a trip to Mangalore (Will be a separate post some time later) did some help in this aspect.

And then when I did get that joining date mail, I was really happy. Started my preparations for a life at Bangalore. On Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 I entered the service of Moto. My office is in the Bagmane Tech Park, C V Raman Nagar and it is a really nice place. And I have been put into a team that is really great. Though all the members are very much experienced, they have made me feel easy and comfortable with no great pressure. And after some delay in getting my PC network configured, the first thing I looked up was the blogging policy. There is not any serious restriction on blogging and the main constraint is that we must put up disclaimer notices along with the posts related to moto that states that the company has nothing to do with the post. Great!!! But will get more clarification on whether I can post real technical matters as because most things here shout out the words proprietary 🙁 Well, will update more info soon.

And as for Bangalore, we were welcomed with half a dozen (low-intensity) bomb blasts. Otherwise the city is nice except at nights when the city gets really cold (More felt when you are from a place like Trichy or Madurai). Had just been roaming about in the wekends to get aquantined with the city.
